Thylander is excited to unveil the second neighborhood for the Build For Life fund with the addition of the former “Søagerskolen” site in Smørum. Secured through a public tender by Egedal municipality, this project marks a significant milestone in our mission to create a market-leading portfolio of high-quality neighborhoods in Greater Copenhagen’s most sought-after locations. The development project, named Søagerhusene, will feature 105 residential units with a large variety of different housing typologies to accommodate a broad mix of residents.

At the heart of Søagerhusene is a strong sense of community. The development will preserve and carefully renovate Søagerskolen’s historic sports hall and equip it with updated changing facilities to meet modern standards. In extension of the sports hall, new common facilities including a common house with an adjoining kitchen, guest rooms and a craft room will be built to foster a lasting connection among the residents of the area.

From quality row houses – available in one and two-story layouts – to spacious apartments of varying unit sizes, the project is designed to meet the needs of the many different family compositions of today. True to the architecture policy and design principles of the fund, every detail will reflect our commitment to facilitate a high quality of life for the residents through well-tested building practices.

Investment & Development Manager, Thomas Gulløv, elaborates on the project:

We are thrilled to add Søagerhusene as the second project to our Build For Life portfolio, as we see great opportunities to fulfill all of the visions and targets of our fund through this project. We are confident that the combination of high-quality housing units, a renovated sports hall and new common facilities will foster a high quality of life for the tenants. The project is in one of our preferred areas of Greater Copenhagen and we have already experienced significant interest in the housing units from multiple residents from the local area, which underpins our strong view on the lasting need for housing in Smørum and Egedal”.

The Build For Life-team is already in the projecting phase, working closely with a selected team of advisors. Site preparation is also initiated, which will enable the housing units to be move-in ready by 2026.
