The property “Støberiet” is located at the address Støberigade 8, 2450 København SV in Copenhagen’s South Harbor and comprises 225 student apartments and a “Netto” convenience store.
Thylander handled the purchase of the property from the TDC Pension Fund on behalf of Catella Residential Investment Management (CRIM). The partners know each other well from a similarly successful transaction earlier this year, when the neighboring property “Formeriet” was bought.
“We are incredibly proud to have assisted CRIM with another large investment which once again emphasizes our close relationship and partnership for almost 10 years,” says Henrik Køhn, director and partner in Thylander. The transaction is the sixth this year carried out by CRIM on Danish land, with Thylander handling all of them.
The property is named after one of Teglholmen’s large historic workplaces. In 1920, the shipyard Burmeister & Wain built a large foundry on Teglholmen, where the large machine parts that could weigh over 10 tons could be manufactured. Many years later in 2015, the TDC Pension Fund converted the property into student accommodation.
“Støberiet” is the third dormitory property that CRIM has purchased in Denmark in 2021. Earlier this year, Thylander assisted with the purchase of Falkoner Kollegiet in Frederiksberg and Telegrafkollegiet in Ballerup.
“It is very satisfying that, in collaboration with CRIM, we have made yet another successful transaction with the TDC Pension Fund. The transaction is also well helped along the way by a strong team of advisers, which on the buyer’s side consisted of Bech-Bruun and Colliers as well as Horten, who was the lawyer for the seller,” says Henrik Køhn.
