Thylander is excited to announce the first transaction for our Build For Life fund with the plot purchase of project “Gartnerhaven” in Hvidovre. This purchase marks the official beginning of our ambitions to develop high-quality rental habitats in select areas of Greater Copenhagen with significant supply/demand imbalances.
Project Gartnerhaven will comprise 106 housing units with a dedicated focus on quality materials and lasting architecture that can stand the “test of time”. Our project will contain mixed housing typologies with row-houses and apartments spanning different unit sizes, as we want to create a diverse area with tenants from both the local area in Hvidovre and central Copenhagen. As part of a community-focused effort, the three developers in the area have entered into an agreement with Hvidovre Municipality to create a common large green area with lakes, hills and large trees. By doing so, we commit to restoring former agricultural land with limited biodiversity into a nature habitat with high biodiversity, which we believe will have significant impact on both tenants and the local community.
Senior Development Manager, Rune Reholt, elaborates on the project:
“We are thrilled to let project Gartnerhaven be our first project in the Build For Life portfolio, as it has an extraordinarily strong fit with the visions of our fund. With this project, we can provide high-quality housing units with proximity to green surroundings and social infrastructure and only 10 kilometers to central Copenhagen. Therefore, we strongly believe this project will be valuable for both tenants, the community and our investors”.
The Build For Life team is already making significant progress in the project development work, and we expect the housing units to be move-in ready by 2026.
