THE WORLD’S SMARTEST WATER COOLING SYSTEM NOW DELIVERS SUSTAINABLE ENERGY TO THYLANDER PROPERTY
Tårnby Forsyning’s new energy center is the first of its kind in the whole world and in the future it will supply sustainable district cooling and district heating to Thylander’s office lease and office community, AMAGERSTRAND, which is managed on behalf of PFA.
The new plant is unique because it uses treated wastewater to supply hot water for district heating in the winter and cold water for the district cooling network in the summer.
The facility provides both socio-economic and sustainable benefits to properties and companies just north of Copenhagen Airport – an area which the Thylander property AMAGERSTRAND is a part of.
AMAGERSTRAND received their first supplies from the new energy center in June and in connection with that, Tårnby municipality’s mayor Allan S. Andersen was there to see the energy center in action.
“I am really pleased that we, as a climate-friendly municipality, can help deliver sustainable district cooling and district heating with the help of a state-of-the-art energy center from Tårnby Forsyning. The interaction with the business community means a lot to us, and fortunately the companies are looking for green solutions, and we can help deliver that,” says Allan S. Andersen.
Chairman of the Board of Tårnby Forsyning, Einer Lyduch, adds:
“The very special thing about the power plant is its combination of a cold storage and wastewater energy with district cooling and district heating in one plant, where the synergies are utilized optimally. I am proud that we, as a locally based utility company, can help support the green transition.”
The new energy supply is another sustainable initiative for the multi-user office property AMAGERSTRAND, which of course pleases Project Manager in Thylander, Tina Jeanne Pedersen.
“The district cooling supply is another step in our strategy with climate and sustainability in AMAGERSTRAND. The whole process with Tårnby Forsyning has been fantastic and now we are delighted to be supplied from the innovative energy center, reduce electricity consumption compared to traditional cooling and reduce the area for the new cooling installations,” says Tina Jeanne Pedersen.
