PFA, Denmark’s largest Pension Fund, has in collaboration with Thylander acquired the property “Forum” in Frederiksberg, Copenhagen.
Forum is a 10,000 sqm. sports and concert venue hall centrally located in the city adjacent to the eponymous Forum metro station. The original Forum building was built in 1926 for exhibition and entertainment use. It was bombed during the Second World War and rebuilt in its present form. For many Danes, Forum is best known for track cycling, namely The Copenhagen Six-Day Race, though the last race took place here 20 years ago and then relocated to more modern facilities in the outskirts of Copenhagen.
Michael Bruhn, Head of Real Estate at PFA, says: “It is a unique opportunity for us to acquire Forum and thereby expand our presence in this area of Copenhagen. We are already present with the ownership of the listed property “Radiohuset” across the street from Forum.” and he adds; “Forum is today rented out for exhibition and entertainment use and will continue in that way for now, but there is no doubt that the location has a much greater potential which we are looking forward to develop together with Thylander.”
Kristian Krogh, CEO of Thylander, says: “We are very proud of this acquisition and we look forward to continue as the operating and development partner of PFA in the years ahead.”
The property will be taken over on July 1, 2019.
