Noma opens burger restaurant in well-located thylander property

The team behind the world famous Noma restaurant will now open a permanent burger restaurant called POPL. It opens on Decemebr 3rd in Thylander’s property on Strandgade 108 in central Copenhagen.

Previously, Strandgade 108 housed Noma’s Michelin restaurant called “108”. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the restaurant had to close and instead Noma launched a pop-up burger joint, which became a huge success during the spring.

“There was a festival atmosphere every day and 100 percent local guests. I met both the neighbors from the farm and old schoolmates that I had not seen since 9th grade, and suddenly my old bank adviser, who set up my first account, also stood there in the queue. It was a really cool experience, “says Noma’s boss and main owner, René Redzepi, in an interview with the Danish newspaper, Berlingske.

The property Strandgade 108 is part of the portfolio in Thylander’s investment fund TG Partners VI, which was established in December 2017. The portfolio consists of 11 well-located properties in the Copenhagen area.

The property, with a total area of 1,762 sqm, has a unique location at the tip of Nordatlantens Brygge right between the new bridges in the harbour area of Copenhagen. It was acquired as the last property in TG Partners’ VI portfolio in March this year. At the time, Thylander’s Chairman of the Board, Lars Thylander, said the following about the deal:

“We are very pleased to have acquired this distinctive property, which with the new bridge connections is located in a fantastic environment between Nyhavn, Christianshavn and Holmen. The investment fits perfectly into our strategy of making investments in properties with a huge potential and long-term value.”
